Ashanti Shequoiya who is better popularly known as Ashanti, is a well-known American actress and singer. She's an actress and singer who hails from her native United States. Ashanti was a teenager singer-songwriter and actress in the US, was signed by Murder Inc. Records to record in 2002. Ashanti was featured on The Fat Joe's What's Luv? Both Fat Joe's What's Luv? First female artist to reach the top two positions across the United States, with Foolish on number one and What's Luv? The song is called What's Luv! Let's celebrate the special occasion by celebrating it together. Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, also known in the media as Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York on October 13, 1980. Tina Douglas is the mother of Ashanti. Ken Kaide Douglas is her father. Kenashia Shia is her youngest brother. Douglas named Ashanti Douglas to Ghana after the Ashanti Empire. Women had immense power in the Ashanti Empire and Douglas wanted Ashantis emulated that. James her grandfather was a leader in civil rights who collaborated with Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s. Ashanti's mother discovered her daughter's talents as she listened to her sing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti appeared in Spike Lee's Malcolm X (1992) and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? as an extra in her youth. There were a few appearances by her included music videos, such as K.R.S. Act One's MC's Like They Do Not Know as well as 8 Off's Ghetto Woman. After being courted by various record labels including Bad Boy and Jive Ashanti was unable to make it as a singer. Even though she was receiving no major breakthroughs however, she continued to play in New York. Ashanti began as a back-up vocalist for Big Pun's track, How We Roll. Ashanti was also on Fat Joe's single"What's Luv?" Ja Rule's "Always on Time" and Fat Joe's What's Luv! The track she used for the debut single Foolish comes from DeBarge's Stay with Me which was released in 1983. Ashanti has released her debut self-titled album in 2002. It was released through Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. label. The Declaration was Ashanti's fourth studio release, which was released on June 3, 2008. Hey Baby (After The Club) hit radios and digital platforms on the 16th of October. The actress also appeared in the movies Christmas in the City, Army Wives and Latasha Monteclair. Aitch performs in her Rock wit U song for Baby on March 10, 2022.
